Ready to Tackle Tobacco:
PDP’s Regional Technical Assistance and Training Centers
In conjunction with the launch of the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services’ (OASAS) Regulation Part 856, Rockefeller College’s Professional Development Program, University at Albany, announced that its new Regional Technical Assistance and Training Centers (RTATCs) are ready to tackle tobacco.
The Tobacco Interventions Project
To support chemical dependence service providers’ implementation of Part 856 Tobacco-Free Services, the NYS Department of Health has funded the Professional Development Program to provide statewide training and technical assistance.
Part 856 Tobacco-Free Services and You, the Addiction Professional
As of July 24, 2008, all OASAS funded and certified chemical dependence and gambling addiction programs are required to establish tobacco-free addiction programming.

The Tobacco Recovery Resource Exchange is characterized by dynamic, up-to-date and constantly evolving services for the addictions community. Our professional staff and regional partners are ready, willing and able to deliver the just-in-time support addictions personnel need to appropriately integrate tobacco into their existing services, as well as to help programs problem-solve, plan, and grow.
